A newborn America had a hard time choosing their economic focus. The Northern part of the United States supported commercial and manufacturing based economy in spite of the Southern part of the United States supported agriculture based economy. However, agriculture was very dominant in the United States and many farmers believed that farming would bring them wealth and liberty (Doc F). However, the United States failure with coming up with the united currency and educated people’s opposition of giving common people economic powers resulted in common people’s rebellion such as Shay’s rebellion (Doc G).

During the American Revolution, the Native Americans supported the Great Britain. Despite of their alliances with the Great Britain, after the American Revolution, the Native Americans wanted peace and alliance with the United States. (Doc C). However, the United States highly disappointed the Native Americans by not including them in the Treaty of Paris of 1783 and worsened their relationship with the Native Americans by creating separate treaties with the Native Americans. (Doc E).

Tension grew between the Native Americans and the United States which eventually led to the Northwest Indian War between the Native Americans and Western Confederacy who wanted to expand their territory near Ohio and Mississippi River. As a newborn country, the United States also had to go through hard time shaping their constitution for an ideal country that they wanted to create. They were divided between federalists, who wanted stronger central government and limited power to the people, and anti-federalists who argued that stronger central government would destroy the work of the Revolution nd limit states’ rights. However, because of the lack of the strong central government, the United States has failed to control many rebellions such as Shay’s rebellion and Whiskey Rebellion. As a result, James Madison came up with the Constitution that gave the central government more power to control people compared to the power that they had according to the Articles of Confederation, In contrast, it also limited the power of the central government (Doc I).

The argument between republicanism and democracy rose as the division between the federalists and anti-federalists have become the gap that could not be filled up. Last but not least, not all people had their rights after the American Revolution as many patriots proposed. Even though they have agreed to include freedom of religion in the Constitution (Doc D), women and slaves still lacked their freedom. The women’s role grew during the American Revolution.

Women have begun to claim special responsibilities for nurturing their children while their husbands were gone and performed some works that the men were responsible for during the war (Doc A). As a result, women have gained somewhat more rights as they could vote in some states. However, the society did not accept educated women’s opinion even though women were more actively participating in speaking as a result of the more opportunities for education of women (Doc J). Slaves were also disappointed that they did not obtain their rights.

Even though the North opposed slavery, the South still used slavery as a main factor for their plantation farming and returned the fugitives to the South whenever they captured runaway slaves (Doc H). Even though many people started dreaming their own American dreams, it was not easy to achieve their own dreams. Many problems arose as a new-founded country tried to create a country that no other countries had ever tried. Unlike the success that the United States is gratefully enjoying right now, their start was very rough and unorganized.
